This chemical-free technology, developed and patented by B&M Longworth of the UK, replaces traditional solvent cleaning by using superheated steam operating with pressure swings and rapid decompressions. The mechanical removal of polymer embedded in the metallic filter media, along with some percentage of hydrolysis, provides a clean, environmentally friendly method of bulk depolymerization.
In addition to using DEECOM® for initial bulk depolymerization, this technology provides exceptional particle removal via the rapid decompressions and pressure swings. From barium-based additives to titanium dioxide (TiO2), technical additives used in polymer manufacturing are typically the most difficult items to remove during the cleaning process. Carolina PEC routinely utilizes DEECOM® for deep cleaning of filter media by removing the additives and inorganics found in polymers.
DEECOM® is a proprietary cleaning process that uses superheated steam to remove polymers and contaminants from metallic filters without damaging the substrate.
Industries like polymer processing, specialty chemicals, and pharmaceuticals benefit due to the gentle yet effective cleaning.
DEECOM® provides performance equal to or better than traditional chemical depolymerization methods, while offering a more environmentally sustainable approach to bulk polymer removal.
