Aqueous Cleaning

How it works

Aqueous cleaning processes at Carolina PEC include the use of acids, alkalis, and specialty mixtures of water-soluble chemicals. Carolina PEC uses targeted chemistry, based on the contaminant and additives of each end user, that will provide passivation, scale or particulate removal, pH adjustment, or targeted contaminant removal.

What we do

From fiber metal polymer melt filters to filter tubesheet bundles to porous metal blowback filters, nearly every component cleaned by Carolina PEC involves aqueous cleaning processes.

Polymer melt filters are first subjected to bulk depolymerization and oxidation. Aqueous chemistries remove any residual additives and scale remaining in or on the filter media. With detailed neutralization procedures between each cleaning step, a cleaned filter will not only visually appear like new but will demonstrate consistent test criteria within the filter set, depending on the number of cleaning cycles.

“Carolina Filters looks for alternate means of cleaning more than other companies do. The other companies are stagnant on how they clean whereas Carolina tries hard to lessen their environmental footprint. It is always important to try to take care of the environment so that is important to us. Carolina Filters is always looking for new processes and new ways to refine and improve their cleaning expertise.”
